The Water Cycle

The Water Cycle
I am learning to inform my audience through an explanation

When you take a nice long shower do you ever stop to think where all this water comes from? Well water has been on Earth for billions of years thanks to an amazing thing called the water cycle. A cycle is a set of steps that repeat over and over again. The water cycle can recycle water! There are three main parts of the water cycle which is precipitation, evaporation and condensation! Without even one of these steps the whole cycle wouldn't work! Starting off with precipitation.

Precipitation is when water droplets fall from the sky in the form of rain, snow, sleet or hail. The temperature of the air tells us what form of water it will take. Water that falls straight into lakes or rivers is called streamflow. When the water falls into a lake or a river, it will soon turn up in the ocean. Rain that fall onto the dry ground is called surface runoff. The water underneath the ground is called groundwater. After all that happens it is time for evaporation to take place.
Evaporation is when water from the ocean turns into a really strange substance called water vapour. The heat of the sun can turn water from the ocean into water vapour which is a type of gas. When you see a boiling kettle and all that gray stuff comes out do you think thats gas? Do you think you can see gas? Well gas is invisible so the thing you are seeing is actually is steam. Water vapour goes up into the sky to make a cloud. When all that is finished it is condensations turn.

Condensation is the process when water vapour cools down and turns into water again. The water then starts to form clouds which causes the cloud to get bigger and heavier. As the cloud turns grey it starts getting full of water and… Water droplets fall from it! Let me tell you something really cool we started off with water droplets falling from the sky and here we are now, water droplets!

In conclusion water we use everyday gets recycled by something called the water cycle and the three main parts of it is precipitation known as rain, evaporation known as water vapour and condensation known as clouds. The water cycle has the responsibility to recycle water but, we have the responsibility to stop wasting water.
