My Accident Story

My First Major Accident

February 2019

I am learning to entertain my audience through a recount.

What was your first major accident? Was it as simple as a little cut or as painful as a broken leg? Mine was in the middle of both. My story was when I was about 3 years old, I was very, very clumsy back then. I was also really sporty and competitive. The story takes place in a train station.

I looked to my right, I could see my mum clutching my hand hoping I wouldn't start another one of my little races where I take off. I look to the left and see my dad clutching my other hand also hoping I don’t bolt off. I looked straight ahead I could see 4 fine looking benches but, only 1 seat left! I might have been the only one staring at the seat wanting to sit on it, but I had to have it. I let go of my mum and dads hand, pulling them sharply down from their grip, and I sprint for my life hoping that no one would take the chair before me. When suddenly...

BANG! There I went, tiny little me falling down onto my knees not knowing what was going on. It didn’t feel that bad, just like I had hurt myself a tiny bit. I look down only to see red, bright red. It reminded me of something, I just couldn't put my mind to it. Then I knew it, it was BLOOD, as soon as I realised that it was blood I saw way more of it. It was like my little brain was hiding it all. I saw red blood gushing down my ever so small legs. My pain had finally kicked in as I let out loudest scream I have ever heard in my 3 years of living!

My dad and my mum raced to help me up, but because my dad was apparently the fastest in his school according to him, he got to me first. I was kinda surprised because even my loudest scream didn’t help me to get any attention from the strangers. I was crying my eyeballs out and my dad helped me up. Then my mum came hugging me.

I was really lucky that I didn’t fall in the train track because if I did I wouldn't have been here! I got cleaned up and got on the train. I can guarantee you that fall was the most painful injury of my life! I have definitely learnt from my mistake, not to run in dangerous places.
